Transport By Tour Buses - Road Transport Authority (RTA)

The business selects the transport activity category like commercial transport, delivery services, passenger services, or fleet operations. Depending on the chosen activity, RTA may request additional technical specifications for vehicles or operational facilities.

The applicant submits the trade name reservation, initial approval, passport copy, and visa details. At this stage, the RTA verifies the eligibility of partners and the alignment of the business activity with Dubai’s transport regulations.

The application is filed via RTA’s designated service portals or through approved service centers. Businesses must ensure accuracy in activity descriptions to avoid rejections or delays.

Once the application is accepted, the applicant proceeds with the RTA government fee of AED 4,000, along with an additional charge of AED 20 for administrative processing.

Certain activities, such as school transport, heavy vehicle operations, or limousine services, require inspection of the fleet, driver qualifications, parking yards, and operational readiness.

After all verifications are completed, the RTA issues the approval certificate. This certificate becomes a mandatory prerequisite for license issuance or activity activation under the DED/DET.

Some activities may also require approvals from Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, or Civil Defense before the business can begin operations.
