The authority internally classifies the nature of your request and verifies whether your planned operation fits within standard regulatory parameters of the UAE Airspace. If your activity falls under a category that requires additional clearance such as commercial filming or airborne equipment deployment, the system flags it for secondary assessment.

A technical team reviews the operational scope from a safety perspective. They ensure the mission will not interfere with navigation routes, airport corridors, or restricted zones. If any additional approvals are required for instance, coordination with airport operators or ATC authorities, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority will notify you at this stage.

Once your application passes the technical review, the system triggers the payment stage. The approval fee is AED 6,500, with an additional AED 20 administrative surcharge.
