Middle East : Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, said on Sunday that his government has authorized the $34.85 billion plans for the new passenger terminals at AI Maktoum International Airport on X, formerly Twitter.
The Al Maktoum International Airport will be the largest in the world having a capacity of handling up to 260 million passengers, Sheikh Mohammed said.
Compared to the current Dubai International Airport, it will be five times larger. He continued by saying that Al Maktoum will host all of Dubai International Airport’s operations over the next ten years. There will be 400 terminal gates at the airport, which has five parallel runways.
