The government fee for a family residence visa or iqama in Saudi Arabia is SAR 400 (around US$106) per month, per dependent. This is the standard fee for all nationalities. The iqama is valid for one year and can be renewed annually.
There are some additional fees that may apply, such as the medical testing, application processing and medical insurance fee. The medical insurance fee is SAR 2,000 (around US$530) per year.
The total cost of a family residence visa or iqama in Saudi Arabia can therefore be around SAR 12,000 (around US$3,180) per year. Fees are subject to change and it is suggested to check with the ministry for latest costs.
To apply for a family residence visa or iqama, you will need to provide the following documents:
A valid passport
A completed visa application form
A visa referral note from the sponsor
Proof of relationship between the sponsor and the applicant
Proof of accommodation in Saudi Arabia
Medical insurance
A criminal background check
